Loveless Bus

Loveless #9, marks where I got off the Loveless bus. When this title started I was psyched to hear Azzarello would be writing a western. Sounds like an great combination doesn't it? An Edgy, gritty, hard-hittin, violent western by the same guy bringing us the edgy, gritty, etc., modern day crime noir of 100 Bullets. Thats got to rock, right? So, I stayed for eight issues but no more. Loveless is not for me. Sure it had some inspired moments but for the most part, after eight issues, I find I just don't care about the story of Wes and Ruth Cutter. Need to catch up on reading the 100 Bullets trades anyway.

Of course this also clears some space on the Get List for Lone Ranger in Sept.

Pull List for 21JUN06

Big week for me but I am starting in with three new monthlys. Here's what I'm on the hook for.

Getting to the point where I hope the Luna Bros. start wrapping to up soon. The last few issues haven't advanced the story much. It been just more of the same.

The new stuff.
Had not planned to follow this one, but the Legacy universe outlined in the #0 preview actually sold me. In particular I'm attracted to the ideas of the "Gray" Jedi that place servitude to the new empire above serving the Good side of the force.

... please be as good as Fell ... please be as good as Fell ...

ETERNALS #1 (OF 6) $3.99
I never read the original Eternals by Kirby but this sounds like the sort of concept Neil will bring to life with mystery and awe. From the previews I think it has the feel and scale of the 'Endless'.

The experiment continues ...

I don't think anyone is actually reading this little blog. At least not yet. But if you happened to stumble here just know this blog is more of an experiment then anything else. Perhaps at some point in the future things will transition to a serious effort. After all I do love comics and the stories being told.

The Watch List

Moon Knight #1 has me curious. I'm not familiar with the original character, but the concept is interesting. Our hero, Marc Specter, gains his powers from worship of the moon God/Spirit Khonshu. The story picks up with Marc feeling disenfranchised with Khonshu and wanting back in the game. This is part of Marvel's upcoming Annihilation series.

Silver Surfer

Wow, the Silver Surfer #1 cover for the upcoming Marvel Annihilation titles is sweet. Check it out. I always thought the SS looked to plastic and just uninspired. But that cover makes you feel that he is a Force in the Cosmos. Note to Marvel. Publish that cover as a poster .

There is a larger version at the Marvel Silver Surfer site.

In unrelated news. I've added some Amazon items as a test of Amazon's affiliate program. Still doing a lot of experimenting so expect change.

Google AdSense Test

You should notice some Google AdSense links. This is just a test to determine how the AdSense program works .
